She Wishes to Be a Boy!

Several months ago, we had taken our dog, Kujo, in to get neutered. My kids asked me why I we had to get Kujo fixed. I shared that it is a way to make sure that we not have any unexpected puppies.

One morning, before school, my 7 year old twins, Jazlyn and Jason, were sitting at the counter having breakfast. I was in the kitchen doing dishes when Jazlyn said, "I wish I was a boy."

Quite surprised by the statement, I kind of chuckled and asked, "Why do you want to be a boy?.

She answered, "Because then I don't have to have babies!"

I explained to her that just because she was a girl did not mean that she had to have babies. But, she insisted, "I just wish I was a boy."

Her twin brother, who had been silently listening to the conversation, piped in and announced. "All you have to do is get fixed, Jazlyn! Just get fixed."
