Several years ago, when my son Cameron was still in high school, we were driving past the School for the Deaf in Austin, Texas .  He said, "I'm going to their prom."   I was surprised and asked him to explain.  He said, "They made an announcement at my high school that the girls at the Deaf School need boys who can hear the music so they can dance."  I started to cry.

My son's foreign language in college was sign language.  He's the finest person I know.

 I love being his mom.
